Roadtrip day 10: Day well spent in Ahmedabad .. with a family :)
"Only hate the road when you are missing home" - from Passenger's 'When you let her go'
P.S. I have completed 2k kms in the trip before I reached Ahmedabad. This is something I should have mentioned in the previous post. But well, better late than never :).
I had loved the ride on Riverfront road in Ahmedabad so much that I decided to stay at Ahmedabad for one more day, just to experience the ride again.
Sameer, my friend from Sainik School, agreed to be my host at Ahmedabad. I was at Sameer’s place at 9:30 PM & he, his wife Harshita & I sat till pretty late over drinks & dinner. Sameer’s home has a very positive vibe & the whole family with their 2 lovely kids made me miss my own home.
The next day, I had planned to do sight seeing of Ahmedabad but instead ended up spending most of the time with kids. Mitthu (the younger kid) had a lot of curious question about my bags, sleeping bag, my baba look which I answered with a smile. I loved talking to her & showed her my sleeping bag, packing & unpacking part of it. In below pic, she suggested the right way to carry the sleeping bag.
Arnav, the elder kid, is more serious kinds. He learnt some app development on whitehat jr which made me curious. I looked at his apps & the code. Apparently, they had built it on a platform thunkable.com . It wasn’t bad for a 10 year old although the course did cost a bomb at Rs 28k.
I realized that I am enjoying talking to kids, something which I hardly got opportunity to, as I dont have any kids. I decide to ditch the plan to road Ahmedabad & spend more time with family instead.
Once Sameer & Harshita are back, we watched the India cricket match together. It was so lovely & satisfying to see a closely knit family enjoying together. Thanks guys for letting me being part of the family & an experience which I probably would not had without you :).
As I retire to bed, the plan tomorrow is to travel to Kutch. I would either stay in Bhuj, or closer to White Desert or Dholavira. Apparently, by know, Dholavira also becomes part of the White Desert. I also dabbled with the idea of taking a ferry from Mandvi (the sea location closest to Kutch) to Okha (location close to Dwaraka) to avoid circumlocutous land travel and explore Dwarka & Somnath. We got some information of ferry that got started in the past, but then it seems it got suspended too. I decided to explore about it in Bhuj itself. If at all, it would be possible to carry my bike on the ferry, that would be awesome. If anyone has any information about this, please feel free to post it on the comment.
Thanks Ashish for the amazing time we could spend together. Really enjoyed a lot hosting you. Keep rocking and keep exploring.
Sahi jaa rahe ho enjoying every day reading your experience keep posting bro
