Roadtrip Day 8: The day I met fellow bikers from Kerala [March 16, 2021]
The day I met some fellow bikers
I had a pretty tiring previous day (please read the previous post for details). Usually, even if I sleep late, I get up early to start my day early. This day, I just wanted to sleep more. I got up at 6 & went to a room nearby which was an empty dorm, to do some morning yoga & meditation. The day before, I had hung some of my clothes there to dry.
I came back post my yoga & meditation & saw the person next to me ready to leave. He was a German biker stranded in India for past 1 year. I was actually hoping to have a conversation with him but he seemed in a hurry. Actually, it was one of the reason I chose to stay in the dorm. But guess destiny had other plans :).
I then went downstairs to have tea. Two guys entered there with their biker jackets & I was like, oh, some locals also seem to be driving somewhere. I struck a conversation & the folks turned out to be from Kerla going all the way to Kashmir on their bikes. They are Nikhil & Justin from Kozhikode.
I decided that I will use the day to complete all my pending blog posts. This place had AC & good internet, which is rarity at all my previous stays & going to be the case going ahead as well.
This is how I looked while working on the posts.
I was stuffed pretty sumptously the previous day. So I decided to skip the breakfast. I was thinking of skipping lunch too but then got a bit hungry. So decided to try some Gujrati thali. I looked for restaurants nearby with gujrati thali keyword & decided to go to Shukan restaurant close to the station.
It was a pretty decent restaurant which served only thali. The thali was pretty good for Rs 150
I came back & after a nap, resumed the blog work. It is 11:53 PM now & this is the last post that I just got done with.
Tomorrow’s plan is to head towards Ahmedabad. I wanted to visit Statue of Unity, but it is around 60 km diversion. I think depending on how early I am able to start tomorrow, I will decide if I will visit Statue of Unity.
Good night to me.
Khaman without Gujarati Thali? That Thali didn't do justice to Gujarati Thali. Trust me.
